AP Data Management and Statistics Course Being Piloted at Father Bressani

Father Bressani CHS is happy to announce that we will be piloting an Advanced Placement Mathematics Course in Data Management and Statistics  (MDM4UY) for the 2022-2023 Academic Year.

The rationale for doing so is as follows:

  • Many university programs require students to take at least one Statistics course in their first year.
  • AP students were polled in May of 2021 and a significant number of students indicated that they would enroll in  MDM4UY if it were offered.
  • Many AP students who do not take AP Calculus, because they are not pursuing science or math careers, still take MDM4U.
  • These students could benefit from completing  a Statistics credit at the university level, which could qualify as an elective for the breadth requirements in many Humanities majors.
  • This course would give students an opportunity to stay in AP Math, even if they are not pursuing Math or Science degrees in postsecondary institutions.

Please be on the lookout for this new course during course selection in the new year!
