Students from Ms. Testani’s Grade 11 Leadership and Peer Support class organized Father Bressani’s 2019 Christmas Toy Drive for the City of Vaughan’s 10th Annual Toy Drive Campaign in support of CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish.
Students began planning and organizing for the campaign by decorating boxes in Christmas wrapping paper, which they delivered to all homeroom classes as a toy collection box. Upon the delivery of these collection boxes, students informed their peers about the campaign and encouraged their participation from December 2nd-6th. The enthusiasm and Christmas cheer around the school was wonderful to see, as students brought in a variety of great toys for children aged newborn to 18.
The response was overwhelming and resulted in a total of 768 toys being collected by December 6th.
As a result of everyone’s support this holiday season the collection was extended to Monday December 9th, which resulted in an astounding total count of 1,054 toys collected.
The Grade 11 Leadership and Peer Support class would like to thank the entire Father Bressani school community for their support and for embodying the virtue of generosity this Christmas season!
We are so proud of this wonderful community and the spirit of giving that was exemplified!
